The candidacy experience helps you to become aware of yourself and to understand God's will, so that you can make a more informed decision about your future. Near the end of Candidacy, you may be invited to petition for entrance into the Novitiate program. Undergraduate students participate in the Collegiate Candidate Program at Stonehill College in Easton, Massachusetts. You live in a residence hall with other students while coming together for community with fellow candidates as well as the formation team. You may pursue any degree program you wish, while fulfilling the philosophy and theology prerequisites for graduate theological studies.

College
graduates participate in the Candidate Program at Moreau Seminary,
located at the University of Notre Dame. In this one-year program,
candidates live together in a prayerful community very much like
that of the vowed life in Holy Cross. You will also take theology
and philosophy courses in fulfillment of the prerequisites for
graduate theological studies at Notre Dame.
